El Bolsón – Argentinian Patagonia

El Bolsón Valley is located in the Southwestern corner of Río Negro Province. It belongs to the Andean area of Parallel 42, situated 120 km south of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche and 170 km north of the city of Esquel. It’s characterized by having a particular microclimate with four very defined different seasons.
This is why in El Bolson visitors can enjoy a range of different landscapes each season through the year. The forest dresses up with amazing ocher, green and reddish colors and shades. The crystal clear waters of rivers, lakes and streams, and the crisp-white shining snow, are some of the ingredients of the astonishing beauty of this place. In addition, its special microclimate is suitable for the cultivation of fine fruit and hop.
El Bolsón has been declared both an ecological and non-nuclear zone, and offers its inhabitants and all visitors a peaceful life in harmony with the natural surroundings. A wide variety of artistic and cultural events give this mountain valley a particular imprint. It also has an international artisans fair created back in the 70’s with the arrival of the hippie movement, that found here the perfect place to start a healthier and more peaceful life, always in close contact with nature and the environment.
El Bolsón extends its fertile valley between the Piltriquitrón mountain (“Hanging from the Clouds” in native language) and the Andes, where magic is naturally found, and where visitors can enjoy wonderful landscapes while tasting the delicacies offered by our gastronomy, like homemade jam and craft beer. A joy for the soul, mind and palate!
